Victoria Inn owner agrees to have tenants vacate by May 31
The owner of the Victoria Inn agreed Friday to have all tenants out of their apartments by 5 p.m. May 31 and not let anyone except the property manager live there until Madison’s building inspector and fire chief determine that the building complies with building and fire codes.

Curious. Kind of wandering what the status is on the 12k the city forked over for a consultant to lasso a grocer for downtown. I have heard the rumours, but where is the city bringing assurance to its constituents. ?????

City hall throwing the officer under the bus and then backing over him.

The mayor and his ace lawyer seem to think "not good for MPD" have directed the chief to dig and find some reason to terminate.

What ever happened to supporting your employees? What has happened to innocent until a judge or jury says guilty?

Somehow Damon, the city, and MPD think guilty until proven innocent.

Somehow this is supposed to look good for the mayor if he drives the bus over one of his officers.

The investigators, the State Police and the prosecutor have found nothing except allegations.

Allegations are nothing more than allegations.

It is my understanding that a Madison Police Officer is on leave for allegations of misconduct.

It appears the Prosecutors' office has been providing attorneys with reports regarding this officer.

The Free Press is often provided material for citizens to be informed of current actions hidden from the public.

We hope the Prosecutors' office, in the name of transparency, provides us those same documents so the citizens of Madison and Jefferson County can be informed and that we do not have a Kangaroo Court.

We currently have material from the strip search lawsuit that contains disciplinary files of many officers at the Madison Police Department.

The Free Press has also been provided copies of the conduct of the State Police investigator involved with the investigation of this officer.

The Free Press will soon have material concerning arrests, suspensions, demotions, from the Indiana State Police involved with this investigation and also from the Madison Police Dept.

We are looking for additional material from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and Hanover Police.

The Free Press will be making those reports and concerns available publicly during all hearings concerning this officer.

I think you're overshooting the amount of drugs the average madison dealer can afford Dewey meth sells for thousands of dollars a pound. Ask someone at MPD what the largest meth seizure in this county ever was.

Nobody is getting rich from selling drugs in this county, the "dealers" are just addicts who happen to be flush on a given day.

With all the money Damon and Popcorn are pizzing away and handing out to their friends maybe a hand up to the owner of the Victoria Inn might be appropriate.

If the Inn is refurbished I'm sure the price of a room would be increased and good tenants would come and probably interact with neighbors. The unwanted transients would not be able to afford residents in the Inn.

Then again just doze it down; make the neighbors happy!

when the next mayor starts, a major event should promptly be executed, with invitations to all media including nationals, regionals and locals. televised live while the newly elected leader personally swings a wrecking ball before driving a bulldozer. doing so will demonstrate that we are serious about fighting crime, economic redevelopment and improved quality of life for all the people - both residents and tourists. this event will attract hugely positive attention to our amazing town and county, especially when it is accompanied by our strong tourism and business pitch.

Admin reply: Sound good but the historical crazies won't allow it.
