Because of global warming, our trees had not lost their leaves yet so when the ice storm hit, our limbs broke and knocked out power.

On the other hand, the global warming hoax is what led to the severity of the current wildfires in California. Clinton and Gore passed regulations eliminating proper forest management (Logging), and the forests became to thick and took out the wild grasslands that once fueled said fires, eliminating lower branches but saving the trees. Now there is too much dense forest and it is all extremely flammable due to poor water management.

I gotta admit it Madison,

I'm the democrat who has been out to get you all these years. Thanks to me your electricity will be out until I say Im ready to turn it on.

When I get tired of messing with your electricity. I will do everything I can to make sure you have insurance coverage for your pre existing health coverage via ACA. That should really upset you.

The mad Madd Paddler guy has got mad again. This time someone supposedly called the state excise police and complained about local business having holiday punch or some nonsense. His whole rant and call for community action is rather bizarre and his explanation of the whole thing, whatever it is, sounds made up for attention. What is it with this guy trying to pit people and businesses against each other?

I live on hilltop and was told by Duke today that electric cannot be restored until Sunday. Now 30 hours with out electric. Deep freeze full of frozen food, necessary to remove food from freezer and deliver to folks that have electric. Not a fun job!! As soon as that is done, electric comes on. I--aren't we all-- am thankful for electric!!
Makes me wonder how much truth you can believe in Dukes workers. Don't get me wrong,, they do have a bad job in weather like this and I certainly don't want their job. But, having gone through loosing electric about 3 weeks ago, moving contents of freezer after being told electric would be off for days and as soon as you get food moved, electric comes on. Makes me believe something is lacking on the communication side with Dukes employees.

Just had a enlightening morning...went to fix a problem at my old house in Sunrise and was told they are still without power. I talked to my neighbor across the street and he said was told that would be the case until Sunday at 6pm. I asked him if anyone had checked on the 91 year neighbor that lives alone beside my old house and he said no...well I did and am I glad I did. She was freezing! Sitting there in her chair under a blanket and had not eaten anything and with no way to call anyone even if she wanted to! i Was able to get her gas furnace running in her great room and was able to go get her a hot Tea and 2 plain cheeseburgers from McDonalds! That is what she wanted! She is tired, cold, hungry and was very confused on all of this! I’m sharing with all of you in hopes that we as a community don’t forget to check on your neighbor! I can only imagine how many other elderly people may be in her same shoes! Please take 5 minutes out of your day and check on your neighbor! When I arrived her house was 49° When I left she was sitting in 71° With a smile on her face eating a cheeseburger!

Please check on your neighbor!

Thanks
Keith Mefford

To Madison, that is a hillbilly conspiracy theory if ever one was heard. And the Independents are filtering the flouride from your water.

I own a property on Bellaire Drive and one on Hereford Lake. Duke is saying it will be Sunday at 6pm before either property has power. Beginning to wonder if democrats are behind this debacle. A house at Hereford Lake not 50feet from me never lost power They are a democrat. Makes you wonder

Thank you JB for the idea on big Lighted Christmas Balls - I’m not sure if it was yours or another persons but I think we can go ahead and do something like that for winter wonderland this year. Keep tossing out suggestions even if they look hard or expensive. We can always put them on the plan for coming years. I’ve received plans for a lighted train & that has been added to the list of sculptures - it is a go for 2019. We already have a builder and donor! So please continue to send ideas & I will keep JB updated as to what year they will be added if not this year.

Also if you are a toy merchant, bakery, candy shop, coffee shop or feel you have a product that would work with a family & children at an outdoor event please don’t hesitate to contact Visit Madison or drop a note to JB. Tents will be provided as will holiday decor to “complement” the festival atmosphere. The first 2 merchants to participate will be grandafthered permanently & never pay a fee for “booth rental”. So even if you are an artist and don’t have a storefront you are still a small business, so toy builders, Christmas card makers etc should consider this great opportunity for a little extra cash right before Christmas. This event runs 4-9pm Friday and Saturday evening, the 7th and 8th. Wonderland is local busy friendly & opportunity to participate is given to our local small businesses 1st.

We are looking for a face painter for kids (and funny adults) It would be great if you could volunteer but if not we have a sponsor for a small payment. Mimes, jugglers and assorted goofy people are also encouraged to reach out including princesses, super heros, elves and abominable snowmen.
